By 2050, if we continue with our current consumption level of plastic, there will be more pieces of plastic in our oceans than fish. Plastic, made from crude oil, releases estrogenic chemicals that mimic estrogen in our bodies in addition to breaking down into micro-plastics that then can be eaten by wildlife. When one truly stops and questions it, is a plastic straw necessary? In the video below, I explain why I gave up plastic straws over two years ago.
