Clean Water on the Go

I try to reduce my exposure to chemicals as much as I can- although I know I miss a lot. This means eating organic as much as possible, avoiding GMOS, using nontoxic cleaning and beauty products and being mindful about my water.

When we moved to our new house, our water filtration system changed. We started using just the filtered water from our refrigerator and no longer used a reverse osmosis system. I knew the refrigerator filter wasn't getting everything out and I had to find an easy solution until we could invest in a better system.

I quickly landed on GOpure pods- they have a ceramic casting and use diatomaceous earth to capture impurities such as benzene, fluoride, arsenic and lead:

They last about six months and the website says they will recycle them for you. I assumed this meant that they have a program- they don't (as of writing this.) You have to package and mail them back. I did this, though, and put my used pods in the glass vials that they arrived in and even shipped them back in the same box as I'm always trying to reuse as much as I can.

I love how the pods make my water taste sweeter and how I can take them everywhere. I keep one in my water bottle at all times knowing that I can filter any water on the go. They are a great alternative if you can't afford a fancy system or plan on doing some travel!
